The most suspenseful part of each Owls basketball game is waiting to see who will actually be playing.
FAU lost to WKU and again were in the game late, but no depth caused the Owls to come up shorthanded.
Oh, and Carlos Monroe was out, this time for his ailing foot injury. He'll be out for at least three weeks, and has already missed 11 of the first 17 games.
Every game it's something new. Monroe's out, Perkins is no where to be found, and Hughley has a health problem. Then, there's Sammy Hernandez who has a groin injury and has been playing limited minutes.
Fifth year walk-on senior Chris Coleman started last game for FAU. Jarvis says that in these tough times they have a dart board with names on it and Coleman's name came up.
You know it's bad when the head coach is admitting he's trying everything and has resorted to starting Coleman, who has tried out and was cut the last three years and is an FAU band member.
Jarvis keeps reiterating that college basketball comes down to the first week of March and they need to string some wins together to get some momentum going into the conference playoffs.
The perfect time to start is against rival FIU Thursday night in the Burrow at 7pm. The Golden Panthers are one game ahead of the Owls, so this one will be the battle for last place in the Sun-Belt Conference. it's time to Bury the Burrow in Red, so be there and wear the right color!
