I was watching this group of ten guys play basketball last night and witnessed something incredible.
They decided to play a game up to 11, first man who reaches that number wins. Ordinary enough.
Well, extraordinarily enough only one guy scored. He hit 11 points before anyone else on the floor could make a shot. That players name... Dwayne Wade.
He put the Heat up single handedly 11-0 to begin the game against the Bucks. It's too bad Wade was overshadowed yet again by another of basketball's elites last night when Kobe Bryant broke the Lakers all time scoring record.
Still, it was masterful to witness Wade accomplish this feat on the same day Charles Barkley told Dan Lebetard he thinks Dwayne is right now the best he ever will be in his career. I can't imagine him, or anyone, having a better five minute performance again.
It's one thing to be that much better than everyone in street ball, but when that happens in an NBA game it's special.
Even more special is the fact that Miami got blown out and Wade made just 12 points after the run. It shows the inconsistency Miami's displayed all season. One night they'll blow out there opponent, the next night they'll get blown out.
Wade is the heart of the Heat and his inconsistent play has been the heart murmur to Miami's chances at success thus far this season.
