Darius Weems, the subject of the award-winning 2007 film "Darius Goes West" will be helping coach the men's basketball team at their next home game against Southeast Louisiana University on Saturday Dec. 13.
The goal is to raise awareness about the disease Weems has, called muscular dystrophy.
On Thursday, Dec. 11 Weems will attend the Owls basketball practice from 11am-2pm in the Burrow before he and the basketball team screen "Darius Goes West" at Muvico Palace 20 in Boca Raton later in the night. So if you want to hang with the team, or meet the man behind the movie, here is your chance.
