Bury the Burrow in Red Part 1; The Women's Turn

FAU trounced the FIU Golden Panthers in the first match up between the two this year.

The Owls (5-11, 2-4 Sun Belt) played their best game of the year with an overall great team performance.

Six players finished in double figures and the 94 points scored was the highest since the March 8, 2003 Atlantic Sun Tournament game against Stetson where FAU won 91-79.

Brittany Bowe was the Owls leading scorer with 20 points. She also had a career high 13 assists and was just three steals away from a triple-double.

Andrea Taylor scored a career high 18 points in the win.

It was 13-2 FAU straight out of the gate, and 51-33 at the half. FIU (3-14, 1-5 Sun Belt) came back to make the score respectable late, but were never really in the game.

The Golden Panthers struggled with keeping control of the ball, turning it over 20 times. The Owls had just 6 turnovers.

The win brings the Owls back in the Sun-Belt Conference race and moved them ahead of FIU in the standings.

Next up for the ladies is a trip to face North Texas on Saturday Jan. 16 at 6 pm. Live audio will be at http://fausports.cstv.com/.

Tonight is the men's turn. Here's what we're saying about tonight's game. Here's rival FIU's words on the game. It should be a good one tonight, even if it is the battle to stay out of last place in the Sun-Belt Conference.
