What A Wonderful Weekend

My Steelers won! Defeating the San Diego Chargers for the first time in Pittsburgh in the playoffs.

You can just tell when Willie Parker is healthy, because when he is, he's one of the elite running backs in the league and he proved it again Sunday with 146 rushing yards.

Pittsburgh looks poised and ready for another Super Bowl run. The last team to win the Super Bowl that doesn't have a Manning at quarterback is the Steelers.

Problem is, they have to face the Baltimore Ravens, who beat the Tennessee Titans 13-10. The Steelers have already beat the Ravens twice this year, once in overtime and the other on this Santonio Holmes touchdown grab in the final seconds.

This will be smash mouth football at its best.

I was really pulling for those Titans for no other reason then that lasting image of a few of their players being sore winners, stomping on the terrible towel. I wish we could have stomped their Super Bowl dreams in the AFC Championship game.

Then there's the Eagles and Cardinals in the NFC championship game. If the Steelers win, it will either be a Pennsylvania Super Bowl, or Pittsburgh will face its ex-Offensive Coordinator Ken Whisenhut, who was just a Mike Tomlin hire away from being named Pittsburgh's head coach. What a match up it will be! And I'm heading to Tampa for it all!

If you listened to Owl Radio for the men's basketball game, that was Brian Rowitz on the play-by-play with myself doing the color commentary. It felt good, like that's what I'm made to do. Word is I'll be back at it for the women's game this Wednesday night for Bury the Burrow in Red.

With that Gators win Thursday night, then all my other festivities on the weekend, this should prove to be a good week.

Later gator...
