College Gameday Review

My Spread Prediction Results: 2-3

My Winner Results: 2-3

I'm usually good at this, but not this week. I guess I could do better if I just picked all the easy games on here like UF vs. Troy but that wouldn't be any fun.

Stanford Cardinals at Wake Forest Demon Deacons; Stanford came close but couldn't upset Wake Forest. The Cardinals' Andrew Luck and skill couldn't hold the 17-3 lead they jumped out to in the first half getting shout out 21-0 in the second half.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Michigan Wolverines; Michigan's rookie quarterback Tate Forcier looks like a star in the making and came out of no where with a huge day in the national spotlight. This game reminds me a lot of the UM vs. FSU game and not just because the score's were identical. It leaves you wondering whether these teams looked good because they are good or if it's because they're playing each other.

UCLA Bruins at Tennessee Volunteers; Lane Kiffin couldn't get Tennessee to focus on the task at hand and with the Volunteers traveling to Florida next week it's looking more and more like Kiffin will be a failure in both leagues as a head coach. Good thing he's young and has time to prove him self.

USC Trojans at Ohio State Buckeyes; Not such a sure bet after all. Both the young quarterbacks had highs and lows. OSU proved it has talent enough to face the best in the nation and with the close loss still stay in the hunt for the national title.

The Rest of Today's Action

North Carolina nearly got upset at Connecticut. Butch Davis built that football program up from being one of the worst in the NCAA but it's clear they still aren't elite. Their only safety net was the Tar Heels coming up with a safety in the final minutes.

Houston took out #5 Oklahoma State. Now the Oklahoma Sooners are back to their normal spot being the best in their state.

After that thrilling game the Seminoles played against the Hurricanes, FSU nearly lost to a sub division team Jacksonville State. JSU put up a good fight against Georgia Tech the week prior, but came up short as well. That's a tough schedule to start off the year with, especially for a sub division team. This either proves JSU is talented, or that the ACC is untalented. It's probably a little of both. I really wish Bobby Bowden would finally retire as FSU's head coach, he's really been hurting his legacy in recent years.
